While messing around on her photocopier Bella Freud spied the date 1970 printed in the corner of a page of the book she was leafing through. Inspirited, she kept blowing it up, then cut it out and pinned it onto her jumper. It had a rough charm that made her think of the early New York punk scene in the 70's, and Patti Smith, and became her staple ever since. Her merino wool knit has a fine handle, making it easy for layering over in the winter.
